Who needs a Hitler?
Just have a Democracy.
Really. It’s interesting to browse the current events. While on the road recently I watched Insanity & Combes on Fox. The guest was Phil Donahue, who despite some past transgressions, is pushing a new documentary about how screwed up things are in Iraq. He presents a convincing and an obvious argument. An argument that of course contains reason that continues to elude Mr. Hannity’s mind. All Hannity can say at the end, ignoring his own earlier comments and all other dialogue, is “wasn’t it the right thing to do?”
Of course, one should be able to answer “NO”, quite clearly. Because, Hannity thinks, that Hussein is basically another Hitler. And of course Hitler should be stopped, right? Whatever the point.
Anyway, after shouting NO to his dumb question I would throw some democratic facts his way. In Iraq, the people are less free that under Hussein’s rule. They could have arms without much hassle. Women could go to school. It was a secular reign by and large and while different religions were tolerated they could be ignored. A regime that the U.S. encouraged Hussein to fight has more influence in Iraq than ever before. Iranian shia influence is now everywhere.
Women must be covered head to toe and education for women is discouraged. At the local level more shia influence is dominating and dictating these measures.
Yes, this is widely known to anyone that cares. But, is it? Hannity and his types “act” like they care but how is it they can overlook these obvious hiccups? Just like he overlooks his own arguments and at the end asking anyone, “wasn’t it the right thing to do?”. He really doesn’t know what he is supporting. Democracies oppress the people as a phantom menace. Its wrecking our economy and taking away our freedom’s.
