The Bill Press show

While on the road this week I had the opportunity to listen to the Bill Press radio show for the first time. Bill Press, in my view is just another liberal anti-anything-right beatnic. While very opinionated and passionate, which is fine, he has very simple opinions many times wrong. I’ve seen him sub on a few tv programs from time to time.

For instance, on the radio program, he was blasting McCain for not disagreeing with a supporter’s manner of asking a question while on the road. The question, which came from an elderly sounding lady simply asking John McCain, “How can we beat the bitch?”, referring to Hilary of course. Everyone laughed, including McCain, then McCain proceeded to answer the question. Bill Press thought this was a rather “bad” way to handle the question, where he feels McCain should have stated that that was a poorly asked question and he should have berated the woman for asking it taking offense to the use of the word “bitch”.

Suggesting this shows poor character in Bill Press’ mind. As if “we” Americans are above such conduct in our politics. Please, don’t kid yourself. I’m constantly irritated by simpletons arguing that politics should only be handled in a continuously respectful and courteous manner.

Instead it should be a wide open free for all. With candidates speaking freely, lambasting each other! Why not? This other attitude instead suggests that we should ALL respect the president and the office of the president. NO, the president is supposed to respect the will of the people and the people themselves. We must eliminate this attitude of regality on the presidential office. As if they are untouchable in this sense. If the president is a dumb bastard then he should be called one by everyone all the time.

I would really appreciate in news conferences held by the president if all reporters started their questions by stating, “Mr. dumb bastard…”
