Military enthusiasts begin re-enacting Vietnam War
Bullshit!
Does this honor vets? Some vets think so. Some vets probably appreciate the honor that is more or less bestowed by re-enacting Vietnam battles in any incorrect shape or form.
At the end of the day you have these so called enthusiasts, 30 and 40 somethings playing soldier just like a kid plays with his GI Joe’s.
With the grip of fear missing in these re-enactments and the horror that war brings, these idiots instead re-enact the Time Life series of phony honor and sacrifice they do not understand as if its a paint ball game.
Instead, to honor the soldiers, and undertake a more fitting remonstration, we should “discuss” the terrible decision that led the U.S. to engage in Vietnam and burn the dumb bastards in effigy that made that fateful decision to commemorate how ignorant people can be in order to make the case for war only when absolutely necessary.
Most people would rather not know the reality. They want a soap opera. Most people only talk about the necessity of war. Show me someone who sacrifices a their own life to avoid a war then I’ll show you a hero. Until then, there is nothing heroic and nothing to honor about war.
